According to data released by the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics on the 15th, the country maintained a trade surplus of USD 870 million in February 2024, marking the 46th consecutive month of trade surplus since May 2020. Statistics Bureau head Amalia provided data showing that Indonesia's total imports in February were USD 18.44 billion, while total exports reached USD 19.31 billion. The country's trade surplus was mainly driven by the positive performance of non-oil and gas commodities, although the overall surplus decreased compared to previous months and the same period last year. Specifically, Indonesia's trade surplus in February was USD 870 million, lower than the USD 2.02 billion recorded in January and a sharp decline compared to USD 5.48 billion in February 2023. This decline was mainly due to a decrease in exports and an increase in imports. Compared to the same period last year, Indonesia's export value in February fell by 9.45%, while import value rose by 15.83%. In terms of foreign trade, Indonesia recorded a trade surplus of USD 1.44 billion with the United States in February, USD 1.15 billion with India, and USD 630 million with the Philippines.
