The Minister of Manpower is exploring opportunities to transfer productive-age human resource capabilities from China. During a working visit to the Shanghai International Training Center (SITC) on Friday, she discussed potential cooperation. Indonesia will collaborate with SITC, with a special focus on competency-based training at all community vocational training centers in Indonesia. She outlined several potential initiatives to be carried out by both parties, namely supporting instructor training at the Central Technical Implementing Agency (UPTP) and the UPTP Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BPVP). Other collaborations will include benchmarking training center partnerships with the industrial world and quality management benchmarking of training center facilities, as well as providing technical assistance for the development of vocational training programs. This cooperation aims to leverage Indonesia's demographic dividend, similar to China's approach. It is essential to complement the abundant pool of productive-age human resources by improving productivity quality to adapt to the openness and changes in the labor market.
