rnrnIndonesia Guangdong Association Federation (Indonesian: Perkumpulan Persatuan Guangdong Indonesia)rnrnThe Indonesia Guangdong Association Federation (abbreviated as Guanglianhui) was established on November 13, 2007. It is a federation of Indonesian Chinese community organizations composed of fellow townsmen from Guangdong, aiming to unite the strength of Guangdong Chinese, promote community solidarity, advance social welfare, cultural and educational undertakings, and contribute to the national development of Indonesia. It is the first overseas Guangdong community federation formed jointly by Guangzhao, Hakka, and Chaozhou associations.rnrnHistorical BackgroundrnrnThe founding ceremony and the inaugural board of directors' inauguration of Guanglianhui were grandly held on November 13, 2007, at the Sun City Tongle Restaurant in Jakarta. Nearly 2,000 people attended the celebration, including Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Lan Lijun, Indonesian Cabinet Secretary representative Zakaria, Director of Guangdong Overseas Chinese Affairs Office Wu Ruicheng, and leaders from various overseas Chinese communities. In his speech, Ambassador Lan Lijun stated that the Cantonese Chinese actively integrate into Indonesia's mainstream society, contributing to social development and economic prosperity, and expressed hope that Guanglianhui would promote unity within the Chinese community and harmony between Chinese and other ethnic groups. Director Wu Ruicheng emphasized that the establishment of Guanglianhui marks the unity of Guangdong fellow townsmen, Chinese communities, and all ethnic groups in Indonesia, and wished it success in bidding for the 5th World Guangdong Fellowship Conference.rnrnOrganizational StructurernrnGuanglianhui is composed of the following nine associations:rnrnIndonesian Hakka Association (representing Hakka Chinese), Guangzhao Association (representing Guangzhou and Zhaoqing Chinese), Chaozhou Fellow Townsmen Association (representing Chaozhou Chinese), Hainan Fellowship Association (representing Hainan Chinese), Meizhou Association (representing Meizhou Chinese), Dabu Fellow Townsmen Association (representing Dabu Chinese), Jiaoling Fellow Townsmen Association (representing Jiaoling Chinese), Huizhou Fellow Townsmen Association (representing Huizhou Chinese), and Belitung Fellow Townsmen Association (representing Belitung Chinese). The first general chairman was Ye Lianli, with deputy chairmen Chen Bonian, Zeng Guokui, and Li Xingfu, and supervisor chairman Zhou Boda. Guanglianhui operates under a rotating presidency system.
