Detailed Introduction
The Indonesian Chinese Association (Indonesian: Perhimpunan Indonesia Tionghoa) is one of the largest Chinese community organizations in Indonesia, established on April 10, 1999. Its mission is to fight for the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese Indonesians, promote ethnic integration, and foster harmonious development in Indonesian society.
Organizational Structure
National Organization: The Indonesian Chinese Association has branches in 16 provinces across Indonesia, with 90 district/city branches. It also has a board of supervisors and directors with nearly 1,000 members.

3. In March 2024, the Hainan Office of the Indonesian Chinese Association was established to further promote exchanges and cooperation between China and Indonesia.
4. On May 6, 2025, the Jiangmen Office in Guangdong Province was established.
Main Activities and Achievements
Advocacy for Rights: The Indonesian Chinese Association actively pushed the Indonesian government to pass the 2006 Citizenship Law and the 2008 Anti-Discrimination Law, abolishing discriminatory provisions against Chinese Indonesians.
Social Services: The association has organized various social service projects, including sponsoring non-Chinese students to study in China, providing free cataract surgeries, and participating in post-disaster reconstruction, covering 14 provinces and 52 districts/cities in Indonesia.
Cultural Exchange: The Indonesian Chinese Association is committed to promoting cultural exchange between China and Indonesia. Since 2017, it has collaborated with Guangdong Province to carry out exchange activities in sports, education, and other fields. In March 2025, the association officially established the 'Indonesia-China Cultural and Tourism Exchange Center' to deepen bilateral cooperation in cultural tourism.
Chinese Language Education: The association actively promotes the development of Chinese language education by offering free university scholarship programs to help Chinese Indonesians learn Chinese.
Social Impact
The establishment and development of the Indonesian Chinese Association has significantly enhanced the political influence of Chinese Indonesians. As of 2023, the number of Chinese Indonesian parliament members in the Indonesian House of Representatives has increased to 13. Additionally, the association promotes multicultural integration in Indonesian society through various activities.

The current Chairman of the Indonesian Chinese Association is Huang Dexin, who has been dedicated to the development of the association since taking office in 2017.
