Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs recently met in Jakarta with a delegation led by Hebei Province's Executive Vice Governor, explicitly expressing hope to attract more investment from Hebei. The two sides will expand deep cooperation in areas such as downstream industry processing and artificial intelligence technology. He stated that in recent years, economic and trade relations between Indonesia and China have developed rapidly, with bilateral trade volume already three times that of Indonesia's trade with Europe and the United States. Actively introducing foreign capital is of great significance to Indonesia's economic development. Foreign investment not only creates a large number of jobs but also increases national foreign exchange income through product exports. He pointed out that Chinese enterprise investment is an important force supporting Indonesia's national mineral downstream processing strategy, and the two sides have already established a good cooperation foundation in the deep processing of resources such as nickel and bauxite. In addition to traditional resource industries, Indonesia also highlighted cooperation opportunities in high-end technology and smart industries, proactively extending olive branches for cooperation in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence. He particularly favored eastern Indonesia, believing that North Sulawesi Province has outstanding geographical advantages, with local networks directly connected to global transmission lines leading to the United States, making it an excellent condition for establishing international data centers. He sincerely welcomes Chinese enterprises to set up operations. The Vice Governor acknowledged Indonesia's favorable investment environment and responded to the cooperation intention. He stated that the Hebei provincial government will promptly promote Indonesia's investment opportunities to local business communities and actively guide local enterprises to expand markets and business presence in Indonesia. This meeting also explored cooperation opportunities in the logistics sector. The two sides discussed plans to open direct China-Indonesia flight routes to enhance cross-border logistics efficiency and further open trade channels between the two countries. Overall, this meeting further solidified the consensus for cooperation. On one hand, Indonesia leverages its resource advantages to deepen mineral processing cooperation; on the other hand, it actively embraces digital economy and high-tech industries, leveraging Chinese technology and capital to promote industrial upgrading. Hebei Province will also actively promote local enterprises to expand overseas, and cooperation between the two countries in areas such as trade, investment, logistics, and high-tech is expected to reach new heights.
