The President of Krakatau Steel said that the company has planned 2,000 hectares of land in the province's special economic zone specifically for this new Chinese steel investment project. The core goal of the cooperation is to reduce Indonesia's import dependence on finished steel and create an independent local industrial chain. In the future, Chinese steel plants will set up factories locally, directly using raw materials provided by Krakatau Steel, gradually achieving self-sufficiency in domestic steel.
