On September 16, 2013, BFSU received approval from the Ministry of Civil Affairs to establish the Beijing Foreign Studies University Alumni Association. On December 28, 2013, the founding meeting of the Alumni Association was held. On October 22, 2014, the Alumni Association was officially registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs as an independent legal entity. The Alumni Association Secretariat is located in the Alumni Office and operates jointly with it.rnOn April 15, 2024, the founding meeting of the BFSU Indonesia Alumni Association was held in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. Li Feng, Ye Pingfan, and Liu Yue served as senior advisors; Yu Qianliang served as acting president; Xie Yi, Peng Cheng, and Wu Zhihui served as vice presidents; Yang Chuan served as secretary-general; Shen Jingxia and Jiang Haiting served as deputy secretaries-general. On September 28, 2024, after an internal vote, Xie Yi became the president of the BFSU Indonesia Alumni Association.rnrnThe BFSU Indonesia Alumni Association will focus on the following three areas:rnFirst, we will serve alumni as our purpose, continuously strengthen the construction of alumni branches, and make the BFSU Indonesia Alumni Association a platform for alumni success. It enjoys a good reputation and broad social influence among Indonesian business communities and Chinese community organizations. The Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association was founded in 2001 under the initiative of founders Yang Kelin, Chen Dajiang, and others. Its headquarters is located in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and it has four branches in East Java, West Java, Central Java, and Bali as well as East and West Nusa Tenggara. Member companies of the association are mainly involved in manufacturing, mining, forestry, construction, banking, insurance, real estate, textiles, food, import and export trade, retail, information and communication technology, logistics and supply chain, and many other fields and industries. It is a federation of Indonesian Chinese community organizations composed of fellow townsmen from Guangdong, aiming to unite the strength of Guangdong Chinese, promote community solidarity, advance social welfare, cultural and educational undertakings, and contribute to the national development of Indonesia. It is the first overseas Guangdong community federation formed jointly by Guangzhao, Hakka, and Chaozhou associations.rnrn<strong>Historical Background</strong>rnrnThe founding ceremony and the inaugural board of directors' inauguration of Guanglianhui were grandly held on November 13, 2007, at the Sun City Tongle Restaurant in Jakarta. Nearly 2,000 people attended the celebration, including Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Lan Lijun, Indonesian Cabinet Secretary representative Zakaria, Director of Guangdong Overseas Chinese Affairs Office Wu Ruicheng, and leaders from various overseas Chinese communities.
