The Indonesian President's Special Envoy for Climate and Energy Affairs recently stated publicly at the 50th IPA (Indonesian Petroleum Association) Convention and Exhibition held in Tangerang Regency that Indonesia firmly upholds its neutral national position and fully guarantees the legitimate rights and interests of all overseas investors in the country, and its superior neutrality serves as a solid foundation for attracting international capital. The state will provide comprehensive legal protection for foreign enterprises' asset holding and daily operations, ensuring long-term stable development of various foreign businesses. He revealed that he had previously accompanied Russian investors interested in investing in Indonesia to meet the President, fully reflecting Indonesia's open attitude towards foreign investment cooperation. Indonesia adheres to the principle of non-discriminatory acceptance of foreign investment and will not define cooperation scope based on specific political blocs. Currently, many countries affected by international conflicts frequently exhibit financial discrimination, and Indonesia promises that investors within its territory will not face such unfair treatment. Whether Russian investors, Chinese enterprises like PetroChina and Sinopec, or capital from around the world, can all invest and operate with confidence, and their legitimate investment rights will be protected at the national level. Relying on a fair and inclusive investment environment, Indonesia aims to enhance regional competitiveness and build itself into a hub for energy industry and high-tech development in Southeast Asia. Investment security commitments at the presidential level can effectively boost foreign investor confidence, promoting capital to deeply engage in national strategic industries such as mining and energy for long-term business arrangement and scale expansion. He concluded that stable political situation, orderly social security, and adherence to commercial contract spirit—these three elements together constitute Indonesia's core advantages in attracting foreign investment and are also key pillars for the steady development of future economic and trade cooperation. In the future, Indonesia will uphold a neutral and open foreign policy, continuously open its doors for cooperation, attract global capital with a comprehensive rights protection system, leverage foreign investment to drive the upgrade of its domestic energy and high-tech industries, and consolidate its important position in the regional economic landscape of Southeast Asia.
