The Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries continues to expand export channels for domestic aquatic products to China. After the addition of 8 newly approved fish processing enterprises, a total of 638 fish processing factories have obtained export registration qualifications for the Chinese market. The Head of the Indonesian Fish Quality Control Agency stated that the Indonesian competent authority, as an officially recognized quality certification unit by China, coordinates enterprise application submissions based on the bilateral mutual recognition agreement. The General Administration of Customs of China approved the access applications of 8 new aquatic enterprises on May 11 this year, granting them official export eligibility to China. The newly approved enterprises include eight local and joint venture aquatic companies. To date, Indonesian aquatic products exported to China have reached 1,080 types, with squid, various types of seaweed, hairtail, leatherfish, yellow croaker and other top ten frozen and dried products being the core export categories. According to 2025 trade data, Indonesia's total aquatic product export volume to China was 491,528 tons, with a trade value of US$1.04 billion, equivalent to approximately IDR 17.46 trillion. China has become a key overseas market for the Indonesian aquatic industry. The relevant official reminded all aquatic business entities with export qualifications to strictly implement hygiene, epidemic prevention, and food safety standards in the entire production chain and factory operations, to solidify product reputation and international market trust, and continuously enhance the global competitiveness of domestic aquatic products. In addition, the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries previously emphasized the need to regularly and strictly control aquatic product quality, to help the Indonesian aquatic industry develop steadily in a free trade environment and strengthen the industry's export advantages.
